Cool Company

"United we are moving. In Unity we stand. PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Sounding like a band". Great stuff, huh? *makes supreme effort to stop toe tapping insanely to the funky beat*. But is it as good as "We create, we innovate, we pass the ones that are late…KPMG, we're as strong as can be. A team of power and energy"? Well, no, not according to a new anthems website where corporate jingles, the newest underground music craze, have their own chart. KPMG is at number two (with a bullet I'd imagine) just behind McKinsey & Company whose "Hey! McKC is the place to be. The team is great, one goddess - C!" has really brought corporate image management "back in da house" - this hipness proving conclusively that management consultants are so much more than an extended sneer with a huge invoice attached.

Most of these chartbusters (McKinsey's ditty has attracted up over 6000 downloads a day) were originally created as motivational tools (and, let's be fair, I don't even work at any of these places and this stuff has got me buzzing) but this "compendium of corporate cringe" also includes unofficial anthems. For example, the McK dirge was written by a group of their researchers in India for a bit of fun and, according to a spokesman, is not played in the office or piped through the tannoy system. I think I can guess why.

"Giraffe, Giraffe, we're having a laugh," anyone?
